Payment
Payment is due the day of service. You can either give our technician cash, a check or they can accept a credit card payment. You can also pay us via Venmo or Apple Pay. In the case that you aren’t home we can send a request via Venmo, Apple Pay or email you an invoice that you can pay via credit card. Just let us know how you would like to pay. ***Please note a late fee will be applied to invoices not paid by 10 P.M. the final day of service.
Steam Cleaning Inside Of Your Home

We ask that you vacuum your carpet 24 hours before our appointment. This is especially important with pet owners. If you are unable to vacuum, a technician will be happy to vacuum before steam cleaning for an additional charge.

We ask that our clients provide proper parking arrangements for our technicians. Windy City Steam only uses truck mounted steam cleaning systems. This means that our hoses have to run from the room we are cleaning in your home, all the way out to our van. So it’s always easiest for our technicians to be able to park as close to your front door as possible. (see picture)

Windy City Steam’s truck mounted steam cleaning systems require a connection to an outdoor water silcot. (Where you connect a garden hose) Many times homeowners and property managers have them turned off for the winter season, (so they won’t freeze and bust) We ask that you make sure your outdoor water source is live and accessible. If for some reason we can’t get water, please give us a heads up before our appointment.

Your pets will not bother us, our system is setup so that pet owners get a technician that is qualified to handle tough pet stains, so they have experience with pets. At the same time, once we begin the steam cleaning process and spraying solvents we ask that our technicians don’t be bothered for safety reasons.
That’s It!
That’s all we require. You can expect a technician to arrive at your location within 30 minutes of your scheduled appointment. When the technician arrives, they will come to your door and introduce themselves and ask to see the areas that need to be cleaned. Upon inspection be sure to address your concerns with the technician and let them know of any areas that may require a little extra care. After inspection the technician will make several trips in and out of your home as they get everything they need to setup. Once the equipment is setup properly, the cleaning should go pretty smoothly and quickly.
Dry Times
Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning: While we pride ourselves on fast dry time, carpet drying times can vary depending on how soiled the carpet is initially and the current temperature/humidity that day. An average soiled carpet should dry within 4-6 hours of the technician leaving your home. For more heavily soiled carpets and stain removal that the technician may need to go over several times, expected drying time will be about 6-8 hours. Cold, rainy or humid weather may slow the drying time and dry sunny days will speed it up. Keeping fans and/or air conditioning on will help. While the carpet dries, we suggest that you stay off it as much as possible as your damp carpet will act like a wash cloth for the bottom of your feet. If you need to be on the carpet while it is drying we suggest you wear clean socks.

That’s it, we ask that if you aren’t gonna be home for our appointment that you make sure that all your windows & doors are closed tightly. Even if we are pressure washing your home. Often times during the cleaning process mudd can get splattered on your home and of course we don’t wan’t to leave a mess, so we have to rinse your it off your home and don’t want any water getting in your home.
